Profile

As an audiologist, my research mainly focuses on studying auditory processing in human brain. I use various neurophysiological (EEG, MEG) methods to study auditory and auditory-visual processing in brain. My doctoral research at Macquarie University, Sydney investigated the maturation of auditory and visual event-related potentials across adolescence. My postdoctoral research included studying auditory processing using MEG methods in typically developing preschoolers and children & adolescents with autism. My interdisciplinary research with colleagues nationally and overseas has looked into letter-sound integration using EEG based methods in children with dyslexia, investigating the effects of meditation on brain processing and studying face-perception using novel EEG methods. At present I am a post doctoral research fellow at MARCS institute, University of Western Sydney. I collaborate with. Dr. Genevieve McArthur, Dr. Britta Biedermann, Dr. Nicholas Badcock and Dr. Peter de Lissa at CCD. MAcquarie University.

My research interests include Life span changes in auditory processing (Maturation and Ageing), Auditory psychophysics; Speech perception, Cochlear implants and Hearing aids and Auditory processing in developmental disorders.

I am also part of a cross-disciplinary team working on a project investigating meditation and auditory attention. To find out more, scroll down to the ‘Projects’ listing at: http://www.cogsci.mq.edu.au/facilities/erp/peopleprojects.html
